Welcome to the BWMT/MKE: Milwaukee Chapter of NABWMT

Black and White Men Together/MKE is now the inactive Milwaukee chapter of the National Association of Black and White Men Together (NABWMT).  The initial use of “Black” and “White” in the name highlighted the racial inequities within our city (and nation), even though we have always been open and interested in LatinX, indigenous/Indian, Asian, and other BIPOC men.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Milwaukee Chapter of the National Association of Black and White Men Together is a gay multicultural, anti-racism organization committed to fostering supportive environments wherein racial and cultural barriers can be overcome and the goal of human equality realized. To these ends, we engage in educational, political, cultural, and social activities as a means of addressing the racism, sexism, homophobia, HIV/AIDS discrimination, and other inequities in our communities and in our lives.

OUR VALUES:  NABWMT is based on recognition of equality and is fueled by action, advocacy, compassion, and sacrifice. Members remain committed to the principle that our lives and rights are worthy to be recognized, valued, respected, and most importantly cherished. Correspondingly, we embrace the  following values to guide our internal and external actions.
     ▪ Respect
     ▪ Honesty/Integrity
     ▪ Justice
     ▪ Accountability
     ▪ Empathy
In addition to our guiding values, we embrace the following aspects for internal and external activities, communication, and coordination.
     ▪ Solutions-Oriented
     ▪ Celebration
     ▪ Relevancy
     ▪ Legacy

Unfortunately, the era of small organizations and group activities are waning, and BWMT/MKE has become inactive.   Social activities and discussions are best available through the NABWMT’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/nabwmt.

Members of BWMT/MKE are still around, but no one has the time or interest to continue scheduling activities such as dinners, Friday fish fries, or Gayme Nights.  If you have any interest in revitalizing the group (even with a new name, statement of purpose or vision), please reach out!   We encourage you to connect with us through the NABWMT Facebook page, and consider attending upcoming summer conventions:
